Repair Summer Damage with a Scalp Renewal Treatment

Summer is over and our hair and scalps may be feeling the after-effects of all the abuse it has taken between the summer sun, the UV rays, humidity, and all the other irritates we’ve encountered during the summer. If your scalp is dry and itchy, and your hair is dry and brittle, we offer a Scalp Renew Treatment. Our renewal treatment nourishes your scalp while leaving your hair at its healthiest.

Of course, the way we treat our bodies also has an effect on our scalp and hair. Here’s some great DIY tips to practice at home to increase the longevity of your scalp renewal treatment, and prevent future problems.

Take care of stress. We all know anxiety and stress can take a toll on the body but did you know that it affects your scalp and hair? It sure can! Reducing stress and the cause of it are personal issues, but you can do some basic things to help reduce the anxiety by getting a full night of sleep, eat a healthy diet, exercise when you can, and even practice breathing techniques to bring that stress level down.

Eat healthy. Eating healthy can do more than just reduce that waistline. There are several foods that are actually considered “superfoods” for your scalp. Sebum oil, the oil that keeps your scalp and hair moisturized, can be found in the Vitamin A & C found in carrots and dark, leafy veggies. Eggs are rich in vitamin B and biotin. Foods rich in omega 3 fatty acids, biotin, and vitamin E, such as walnuts, protect your hair from the damaging sun and prevent hair loss.

Ease up on the shampoo. It’s important to find that happy medium between over-washing and under-washing. If you’re in a profession or sports that accumulates a lot of dirt on a daily basis, you’ll have to use the shampoo. On the other hand, if you have an office job, only use shampoo a couple times a week at most. A buildup of dirt can dry out your hair and scalp as can washing too often.

When you in The Ultimate Barber, ask your barber what their recommendations are for your hair.
